Tohoshinki continues their rise in Nihon thanks to Jaejoong and Yoochun! Word out of Japan is that Jaejoong’s (Jejung) and Yoochun’s (Yuchun) song “Colors: Melody and Harmony” — written and composed by the two — has debuted at #1 on Oricon’s Daily Chart! This means that out of everyone buying a single on the day of it’s release in Japan, most people bought their CD single.
The single also includes another song whose melody was composed by Jaejoong and Junsu called “Shelter”.
The single sold over 100,000 copies in the first day, which is feat for them. Their closest competition only sold 13,000.
If I’m not mistaken (and I probably am) , this is one of the first, if not the first, songs written by the guys to chart at a #1 position in Japan.
UPDATE #1: When Colors was released as ringtone earlier this month, the number of downloads exceeded a quarter of a million (250,000). The shipments for the single (retailers requesting the single for their stores) exceeded 180,000, which breaks their own previous record of shipments.
In addition, their Secret Code Tokyo Dome Live DVD is also #1!
The achievements are well-deserved especially considering the hard time they’ve been having recently with their Korean management company.
Congrats to the guys!
