Another blow for SM Entertainment (SM), the Korean management company, some critics say, that thinks its okay to sign kids to 13 year contracts and treat them like slavesX indentured servants.
Months ago, and after the three members took their case against SM to court, the management company tried to trademark the rights to the name “DBSK”.
SM claims they “withdrew” the application to trademark the names. Fans, however, say they have found information to the contrary. According to translated reports, SM’s application to trademark that name was previously rejected.
That means SM does not own the name “DBSK” and may also mean they can’t prevent the guys from using it.
Fans were nervous about what would have happened if SM were allowed sole control over the use of “DBSK” so news of SM’s application was a hot topic for a while.
We’ll keep you updated on any further information.
