Interview With JYJ on Their Donation to Japan

jyj041
Q: Your feelings upon first learning of the news of the earthquakes of the 11th?

Junsu: I felt that something quite serious must have happened because during filming in Tokyo the lights and the windows severely shook.

Yoochun: Because it was the day that Junsu was to come back from Tokyo, above all things we confirmed Junsu’s safety first, and also contacted our friends in Japan.

Q: Reason for deciding to donate?

Jaejoong: Japan is a place with people who have supported us for a long time. The desire to give help to a place that is suffering from such a horrible disaster is (I believe) not just ours but the common belief of all people.

JYJ donates 600 million Korean Won to World Vision

jyj041
Yesterday, JYJ left a heartfelt message fo Japanese fans on their website and created a video as well. Now it has been reported that JYJ has donated 600 million won ($529,000~USD) to World Vision, one of the many relief organizations currently helping areas of Japan that were affected by the earthquake.

JYJ’s Junsu was in Japan on March 10th when the earthquake occurred, but was not directly affected unlike areas such as Sendai and Fukushima. He had been in Japan for his Japanese schedules and was due in Korea for JYJ’s first fanmeeting the next day when the earthquake hit Japan.

The 600 million won that JYJ has donated to World Vision will be used to provide emergency relief in Sendai and Fukushima by sending supplies, helping with the city’s reconstruction and recovery, and opening a shelter program.

JYJ Court hearing reveals SM still owes thousands of dollars to members

jyj_020
There was a Court hearing in Seoul related to the JYJ’s lawsuit against SM Entertainment (SM).  According to very early translated tidbits, SM still hasn’t turned over all the financial documents for TVXQ and still haven’t paid the members for their huge Mirotic album sales.

The witness at the hearing was “Mr. Yoon”, the person SM put in charge of handling financial matters related to TVXQ.

In Court, SM presented a document calculating money owed to TVXQ for their first single Hug from way back in 2004.  Yes… 2004… and that’s it, according to early translated reports.  One report says, “SM failed to produce any more evidence beyond the single document from 2004.”

But that’s not all.  Its already ridiculous that, according to their contract, SM only has to pay members $50,000 dollars ($50 million Korean Won) when an album sells 500,000 copies.  But when TVXQ finally achieved this goal with their Mirotic album, SM didn’t pay them any of that money and had no valid excuse in Court for why they hadn’t.

The shocking news of the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan set many people on high alert and prayers began to go out to the people of Japan.  We became even more anxious when learning that Junsu and staff are still in Japan.

The latest reports (as of 3:45AM ET) are that Junsu is unhurt, though he did feel the quake, and that they’re waiting on the next possible time they can get on a flight to Korea once the airport reopens.
