Half a million fans participated in the LINE Chat with Jaejoong [+ VIDEO]

510,000 fans from all over the world participated in the LINE chat with Jaejoong on March 11 (KST).  LINE is a Naver app (for Smartphones, PC and Mac) which lets people communicate with each other.

There were 50,000 comments in real time and 20,000 applicants to be chosen to meet Jaejoong in real life.  Fans from 32 countries participated in the event.

500,000 fans participated in the event of drawing a picture with the characteristics of their specific countries onto Jaejoong’s photo.

Using LINE is a way for the artists to get directly to the fans via a familiar platform.

Jaejoong will be on the first online global fan meeting through LINE, according to new reports from Naver.com

The event is scheduled for March 11 2013 between 8PM and 9PM Korean Standard Time.  South Korea is about 15 hours ahead of us.  To convert that, it’ll be about 6AM EST when the event starts (Daylight savings “Spring forward” time will have started in the US by then).

The live chat will give participants a chance to win an autographed CD and a LINE doll.

As if we needed more evidence that ‘doofus syndrome’ runs rampant in South Korea’s media and entertainment industry,  Channel A has come under criticism for their snide commentary during the airing of JYJ’s performance around the 2013 South Korean Presidential Inauguration.

JYJ was asked to be part of the special lineup of performers at a ceremony for Park Geun Hye.  Its a feat not accomplished by any of the lame candy KPOP groups out now… at least not any of the groups managed by the big Korean conglomerate entertainment agencies.
