Update 4

By all accounts, it was a very emotional time when three members of the supergroup Tohoshinki (Jaejoong Yoochun and Junsu) performed for the first time on a large stage without Yunho and Changmin.

Fans report that all three were crying at various points. Jaejoong was crying and “had difficulty expressing his pain from feeling apologetic to the fans who were hurt due to the decision made by the trio.” We all know that Jaejoong is one of the last members to cry in public for any reason.

Yoochun reportedly said that during their tough time last year, he actually considered quitting (NO!). He supposedly said that in October 2009 he didn’t contact any of the members and he was worried if he could see their smiles again.

Happy Birthday Yoochun!

Yah! Guess whose birthday it is?  Our favorite chun-face: Yoochun!  Yoochun’s birthday is June 4 and the deep voiced cutie pie turns 24 (western).  Yoochun is 1/5  of the supergroup Tohoshinki (DBSK / THSK)  and is currently filming a new drama called SungKyunKwan Scandal in which he will make his acting debut as the lead male character.

Yoochun holds up the low notes and can sound a bit naughty if he goes too deep. Teehee! But he also has a very large range and can hit some of the highest of high notes when necessary.

Yoochun is a Gemini, loves long walks on the beach and… ah, I’m just kidding!

Chunnie, as he is affectionately called by those close to him, is known for those oh so kissable red lips and his sophisticated demeanor. However, Yoochun is quite giggly and he seems to love laughing and having fun.

Oooh Junsu! Junsu is HOT on the Oricon (Japan) charts with Intoxication. The single flirted with the 200,000 mark in its first week of release. The sexy song and sexier video was met with both surprise and delight by fans in Japan leading to 195,000 copies sold. Some entire albums in the US don’t sell that much in their debut week.

SM Efforts to Control the name “DBSK” Gets Shot Down, Trademark App Denied

dbsk
Another blow for SM Entertainment (SM), the Korean management company, some critics say, that thinks its okay to sign kids to 13 year contracts and treat them like slavesX indentured servants.

Months ago, and after the three members took their case against SM to court, the management company tried to trademark the rights to the name “DBSK”.

SM claims they “withdrew” the application to trademark the names. Fans, however, say they have found information to the contrary. According to translated reports, SM’s application to trademark that name was previously rejected.

That means SM does not own the name “DBSK” and may also mean they can’t prevent the guys from using it.

The new drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ which will be released during the second half of the year has already been sold to Japan for USD$4.83 million even before its airing in Korea.

The producer of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ stated that, “On 18th May, Avex Japan has decided to buy each episode at an estimated USD$120 thousand, which totals up to USD$4.83 million”.

An unscreened drama, which has attracted a lot of attention from the overseas market, is very rare; therefore both popularity of Micky YooChun in Asia and the perfectly planned ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ has once again been proven in Japan. Once the news of Micky YooChun starring in ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ as the main lead was released, it was then reported in all of the major media stream in Japan, which had become the focus.
